Okay it's the first of October and you know what that means? Yeah you guessed it, or maybe you didn't, little pink ribbons everywhere. It's Breast Cancer awareness month.
Okay I'm all for saving the tatas, breasts are nice, they serve a neat purpose, and my shirts would all fit weird without mine. I admit I'm emotionally attached. That said, what does all this pink really do? Beside not match well with all the orange in the stores in October as well? Is there someone, somewhere that is not now aware of breast cancer. Someone who isn't aware now, who, if they were aware if would change something? I know, in history there have been things that the general populace was unaware of, and that ignorance allowed bad things to continue, but is this the case with breast cancer right now? Some of the more "edgey" banners, pics and such are kind of fun, but is this what we want? Fun edgey boobies everywhere in October? Will it help cure breast cancer? If it will I'm all for it. I don't think it will though. Will it help women, and sometimes even men, stricken with this cancer to get treatment? If so, BRING ON THE KNOCKERS! I just.... I'm beginning to think wearing all these ribbons is like when believers tell you they're praying for you. It's a way to feel good about doing little to nothing.
