I found that because someone posted this blogger's post where they went to the Creation Museum...

The Scarlet A for a day post is very interesting, so are the comments made after. If more Christians did that, took a walk in someone else's shoes they might start to realise why, as a Christian they sometimes get met with anger from atheists and other non-christians. Maybe, just maybe it's not the "angry atheist" reacting to Jesus in them, as they like to think, maybe it's that Christians have been rude, judgemental and/or paranoid. No not all Christians, but many and often. Ya think? Maybe, just a wittle bit? K, anyway it's an interesting post worth a read.
The other post though, by the same blogger, Aaron, is honestly not quite as interesting, well not for me, but it did get me thinking. Aaron seems to think that being a Christian, and being all about Christ, the cross and forgiveness is new, it's not, it even has it's own annoying bumber sticker, you know "I'm not perfect, just forgiven." Don't get me wrong, being non-judgemental would be GREAT from Christians, and well anyone, but that's been being preached since, well... Jesus. Arron and the author he quotes may well be practicing this with introspection, sincerity and deep thought, looking at their fellow man, no matter their beliefs as actually their fellow man. Others though, reading this, or the book, or hearing it, I'm afraid will water it down, not think so much and, well it will turn into the bumber sticker and they will continue to think they have a built in excuse to be an ass, and yet still look down their nose at anyone who doesn't love Jesus. The whole post though, the explanation of this thought, and the following replies to it got me thinking about the whole sham again, and how, honestly, it doesn't make sense. According to Christian theology, God is just, so he has to punish sin, HAS to. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut God is also merciful, damn so now he has to forgive sin, HAS to. But golly gee wilikers how ya gonna do that being both just, must punish, and holy, oh yeah almost forgot that, God is holy, he cannot be in the presence of sin. Forgetting for the moment how that makes it sound like God is Sin's bitch, what I was thinking was the afterlife.

Now someone can piss me off, and yes I know I'm not god, but go with me for a minute. Someone pisses me off, now I have a choice I can get all pissed, mad, angry, and seek vengeance, or I can forgive them. If I say, hey this really pissed me off, and they reply, "OMG I'm so sorry that was messed up of me." I'll probably be more likely to forgive them, but I CAN forgive them even if they say nothing, or if they even do more worse things. Apparently though God can't manage this, all powerful my ass. No, God couldn't just go, "Dayum, my creation are a bunch of screw ups, oh well I love 'em anyway. :)" Like billions of parents have done with their children over the years, noooooooooooooo. God had to rip off a chunk of himself, and call it his son, that is somehow magically him, send this him/son chunk down here to be among his screw ups. Have the Chunk be perfect then kill it. then raise from the.. well you know right? Now if us, the screw ups accept this, then h can forgive us. We have to say sorry and turn from our sin, accept Jesus, well in most Christian theology anyway. Once w do this, then w get to go to Heaven, and escape Hell. It begs the question, why all the drama? Why, why why why?? Not to sound like a three year old and all. You ask and you get the same responses, god is just, and you screwed up, k, but why, well, god is holy, and you are tainted, but why... on and on, if you read Christian apologetic, or even the post linked, you've seen it. God does NOT send us to hell, we do. Wait, what?? Huh??? No I don't, I have no desire to go to Hell, well accept Jesus, no, Jesus makes no sense, then you're going to hell. K, didn't that just make Hell, punishment the default position? Let me explain what I mean, what my thought was anyhoo.
As I said above, if someone pisses me off I can get mad, or forgive them, they don't have to do anything, my choice. If I choose to do nothing, then for them NOTHING happens. No punishment, no being yelled, no forgiveness, but often people don't care that much about forgiveness, unless they care about you. So, philosophically, to me, it's better if someone pisses you off to just let it go, forget about it, I promise you the ass that cut you off in traffic, and almost killed you, then flips you off, will forget about you, so you may as well. Seeking to punish him could get you arrested, but let's say it wouldn't, you could gain your vengeance and not have it bite you in the butt. I'm sure that would suck for the cutter offerer (yes I made up a word) maybe then the forgiveness might mean something to him, but my point is, YOU'D have to do something for that to happen. He wouldn't choose your vengeance. When it came to you, if you didn't take an action cutter offerer wold choose nothing, he'd forget you even existed, if he was ever aware at all, 5 seconds after he drove off. On this planet, the default position tends to be.. nothing. Not always, but with things like this. If w take no action, no action is taken. Why is this not so with God? I know I know, he's GOD, yeah, but he made all this stuff right? Wouldn't it stand to reason then that it would work in a way that matches up to the nature of the creator? If god took no action, and I choose, well you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get to, I send myself to hell. The natural solution would be I go to nothing. Unless God's default position for all humans, is Hell, punishment. In which case "all loving" kind of goes out the window.
